Team Criteria

Traditionally Competition Center programs have been separated on the basis of age and skiing/riding level. In an effort to facilitate the completion of individual goals, riders will be able to customize their individual training day based on options presented by the coaches the week prior to or on the day of training. This structure allows riders to explore their strengths and weaknesses as reflected by a variety of coaching styles and other riders' riding styles. For this structure to function properly, each team member must display proficiency in the below areas.

• Level of riding ability
• Desire to train on specific snowboarding techniques
• Desire to be an active and participating member of a TEAM

As in the past, terrain park program participants will be competing in local Winter Park events, the Rocky Mountain series, and USASA National Championships (riders who qualify). Entry fees will be an additional cost to the competitors at each event. Discounted lift tickets will be available at any events not held at Winter Park (WPST athletes receive a Winter Park/Mary Jane season pass with their registration fees. Upgrades for Copper and Steamboat are available through the season pass office). Athletes are not required to compete in any events; however, it is recommended that athletes take part in Winter Park events as the terrain park program is designed for athletes interested in competitive snowboarding.
